What Every Woman Must Know About Football And Marriage

My best friend forever Megan, got married last year. Believe me, I tried to talk her out of it; Or I at least advised her to wait awhile longer before taking the plunge.

She was in love though, at least with the idea of marriage. Scott, her husband is also a long time friend of mine. In fact, I introduced the two.

After a three month world wind romance, they announced their engagement at a dinner party I was having, ironically, to deliver some good news of my own, but more on that later. Anyway, the short amount of time between the day they met and the day they became engaged, was not why I advised against the two tying the knot. It was the actual date of the wedding.

They were to be wed in just a few weeks and not one moment of their courtship had, or would have, fallen during football season.

American football is a rite of passage for most men. In fact, most men spend more time and effort developing their relationship with football than they would ever think to with their significant other. It’s just the way it works, and believe me, it as deep, intimate and very personal relationship!

If you have not spent time with your man during the rutting season, you could be in for a real eye opener. Language you may never have heard come out of his mouth before, and a sudden and complete disregard for your feelings, especially on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and sometimes Thursdays, could be a rude awakening as to the monster that really lies beneath that coat of shining armor.  Read more... English Rugby ? History

Imbued in English culture is a love and creator of Sports of all kinds.

I have a website where I have listed and linked to the 100+ various sports and games created by us Brits. One of our favorite sports is Rugby Football which It is believed was first played in English villages up and down the country. There are stories that villager’s played against villager’s and the aim of the game was to get the ball passed the opposing village boundary line. The rules included kicking, punching, scratching the opposition over and above the running with the ball and kicking of the ball.

 

While it is true that such games as Rugby did exist for centuries, their may be a kernel of truth to the William Webb Ellis legend that a football match was being played when Web Ellis picked up the ball and created Rugby. As far as most historians can tell, the earliest form of football with much similarity to rugby as we know it today, did originate at Rugby School around Ellis’s time. Whether he was the actual creator of the game or the game simply evolved into something like the modern game during his time is still a point for debate.  Read more... elastic socksThe first record of a pair of football boots occurs when Henry VIII of England ordered a pair from the Great Wardrobe in 1526. [1] The royal shopping list for footwear states: “45 velvet pairs and 1 leather pair for football”.[2] Unfortunately these are no longer in existence.

In association football’s Laws of the Game, Law 4: Player’s equipment deals with football boots. Until 1891, any kind of projection on the soles or heels of football boots was strictly forbidden. The 1891 revision allowed both studs and bars, so long as they were made of leather and did not project more than half an inch, and they had their fastenings driven in flush with the leather. Studs had to be rounded, neither conical nor pointed and not less than half an inch in diameter. The leather studs were originally hammered into the boots on a semi-permanent basis and players would have several pairs of boots with different length studs, but in the mid-1950s Adidas introduced boots with interchangeable screw-in studs made of rubber or plastic for varying weather conditions. Football boots were originally heavy boots with protection for the ankle, and these remained the standard style of boot in northern Europe for many years where the boots needed to stand up to the rigours of use on muddy winter pitches. A lighter boot without ankle protection and resembling a studded shoe became popular in southern Europe and South America where pitches were generally harder and less muddy and this eventually became the standard style.  Read more... How Canadians Celebrate Thanksgiving

Since many centuries, peoples around the world are accustomed to pay homage to Mother nature for good harvests through huge feast. That kind of family gatherings only for enjoyment and fellowship is easier in Canada than anywhere else in the world. Why are the Australian Football Pools Different?
